While the main focus of this website is on the climate movement – with the work of other social movements as a context – looking at the role of cultural power in election contests makes it possible to

• focus on how cultural power is used to gain electoral power, and 
• highlight the challenges facing the climate movement in influencing the political climate when cultural power is used in a way that obstructs its goals.
